72 Chevelle door ding (paint)? Ok so I drove my car to dinner last night and I parked next to a black corvette. It seemed like a good idea because that person is unlikely to hit my car door. Well they leave and someone squeezes right in next to me and swings there door open and I now a chip where some paint is missing on my door. Maybe like a thumbtack in circumference. It's right on the line when the door sticks out the most. Its an estimated $8,000 paint job. It ticks me off so much. Do you think I could touch It up a little to fix it? car insurance.

Plymouth . Chevy Cobalt Clicking Noise - What is it?

Chevy Cobalt Clicking Noise - What is it? My Cobalt has 38k miles on it. It's never been abused. My wife drives it and I maintain it. Yesterday, I was in it as a passenger and as we were traveling in a straight line on the interstate I could hear a distinct slapping sound. It's not brake related and it's not a front end problem. It sounded more like something flopping around erratically like a wire or a chain was hitting something. I jacked up each front wheel and spun them to and fro. The clicking noise can be head from either side. If it's a bearing it appears to be internal. My other guess is: It may be related to the traction control parts inside the case. Maybe a chain is hitting inside? Any other suggestions? car insurance.

Plymouth . Halo Headlights Installation Instructions

Halo headlights appear to have a halo surrounding them. Aside from that feature, these lights aren't very different from many other headlights. This means that there is no special installation procedure and they can be installed fairly simply.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Electrical tape
Wire cutters
4 male crimp connectors
4 female crimp connectors
Pliers

Step by Step :
1
Tape the eight loose wires to the back of the headlights with electrical tape to prevent them from tangling. Leave the ends of the wires free. The wires are all color-code, with two wires of each color.
2
Strip 1 inch off of the sheath at the end of the wires using the stripper portion of your wire cutter. Be sure not to cut through the actual wires.
3
Twist the ends of one of the wires with the end of the other wire of matching color. Repeat with all the wires on the headlights.
4
Insert the ends of the combined wires into the port in a male crimp connector. Repeat with the remaining three wires and use your pliers to crimp the connectors down at the middle to secure them.
5
Remove the old headlights from your automobile. Consult your vehicle's user manual for more information on removing your headlights.
6
Disconnect the wiring from the back of the old headlights and strip the ends off of the wiring. Twist the ends of one wire together with the remaining wire of its matching color. You should now have four ends of wires.
7
Connect the female crimp connectors to the ends of the wires and use the pliers to secure the connectors.
8
Connect the female connectors to the male connectors on the wiring of the Halo lights and fit the lights in the front of your car.

Plymouth . What Voltage Is the Battery in a Car?

A car battery refers to a form of rechargeable battery used to provide power in the form of electric energy to the starter motor, ignition system and lights in a car. Car batteries must supply a certain level of voltage to carry out this function.
Nominal Voltage
Car batteries generate a nominal 12-volt potential difference, or the voltage supplied by two points in an electric field. These 12 volts occur via the connection of six galvanic cells, or cells that are electrochemical in nature and draw energy from chemical reactions occurring within the cell. Each galvanic cell provides 2.1 volts, and combine to generate 12.6 volts in the car battery at full charge.
Charging System
During engine cranking, a car's charging system restores charge to the battery. The voltage regulator contained in this the system supplies an average voltage amount of between 13.8 to 14.4 volts. The voltage provided to the car battery decreases as the battery recharges.
Battery Failure
Battery faults, or loss of charge, results from such causes as broken terminals, low electrolytes or damaged internal connections due to corrosion. An internal battery fault typically necessitates replacement of the car battery unit.

When tightening a series of bolts, tighten them all just until they're snug. Then go back and tighten them all a bit more. Then go back and tighten them all the way to the torque specifications. Doing so ensures that the entire part you're tightening is under even pressure, prevents leaky gaskets, and increases the life of the bolt and the part. This and the preceding tips are good to follow when you're using any kind of wrench to tighten anything. Before using a torque wrench, make sure that the nut or bolt turns freely so that the torque wrench gets a true reading of the proper nut tightness. You can use a lubricant such as WD-40 on the threads and run the nut up and down a few times to free it before using the torque wrench on it. Part I: Getting Started. Adjustable Frenches An adjustable wrench, sometimes called a monkey wrench, is a useful addi tion to your toolbox. (See Figure 2-11.) You probably already have one in the house. You can adjust the jaws to fit a variety of nuts and bolts simply by turning the wheel. I like the very small and medium sizes because they fit into tight spaces easily. An adjustable wrench has many uses. Hammers You may associate hammers solely with carpentry, but they're useful in automotive work as well. In auto repair, you use a hammer to "sweet talk" something loose (like a nut or bolt that's on too tight). You don't use a hammer to whack the tar out of your engine.

hammer, for car repair. .Chapter 2: The Way to Your Car's Heart Is through Your Toolbox A 1 If all you have is a carpenter's hammer and you don't want to buy another one, you can probably make do with it. Just be sure that the hammer you use doesn't have a loose head. If the shaft isn't securely sunk into the head, the head can fly off and damage your car, you, or an innocent bystander. Claw hammers can also be dangerous because a hard, solid impact can cause the claws to break off, with dismal results.
